Here we outline what we'll need to complete your website quickly, efficiently and on budget. The order of these steps is a general guide.
To do this visit https://business.google.com/add if you are not already listed. This enables us to add a Google map location to your website if you require it.
You may already have this - if not register a domain name for your business. The company you register your domain name with does not have to be the same as the hosting company you use. However, having both with the same company makes for less admin. Knowing your domain name is important for us to build your site so we can set coding up to reflect this.
If you do, have it ready to send to us. If not, now is the time to get one designed. Logo designers should supply you with a digital version that will be suitable for enlarging for sign writing and decals on vehicles. The same format can be used for a website.
Choose a hero image for the homepage if you wish to have one. It could be a photo of your office buildings, your sign-written van or your business premisses inside or out. A photo of you or your team members would also be needed - if you prefer not to have them that is no problem.
Write the wording you would like for each page of your website. Generally a minimum of 300 words per page is recommended, but less is fine if you struggle with that target. It is important to get your wording right at this stage to avoid multiple changes once the site is built. This is a good time too to provide the email(s) you wish to use, phone number(s) and address.
Each is essentially the same with minor variations in the header and the way the menu and logo is layed out. Your choice is down to your preference. Decide if you need an image gallery and what the page names with be (if different from our examples).
Reach out to us by email ( ). If any of your files are larger than 20Mb, or add up collectively to over 20Mb, we suggest you send them to our email address via a free account with WeTransfer.com.
Once we have the above we will confirm your order and send an invoice for 50% of the project.
We will build your website on our server where you will be able to see it, advise corrections, and sign it off. Generally we are happy to one round of text edits at this stage.
This is the time to order your hosting which ideally can be with the same company you have your domain name with. We are happy to advice which hosting to purchase to avoid over spending.
Once you have signed off your website we will invoice for the final 50% and upload your website to your server.
To upload your new website we will require either FTP details for your hosting, or access to your hosting account to create an FTP account to upload your website. With your website live you can now add the URL to your Google Business listing (if you have one).
