Is there a limit to how big my website can be?

Yes. This is a service for simple brochure websites limited to:

• No more than 5 essential pages as shown in the examples.
• Galleries with a maximum of 15 images.
• A maximum of 6 services.
• A maximum of 6 team members.

Do you provide domain names and / or hosting?

No. We believe these should be owned indendently by you for your security. Our sites will work on all web hosting platforms - we use hooplahosting.co.nz which is NZ based - but you may use any hosting company you choose. Typical costs should be between $60 and $120 per year which will include your email accounts.

This is paid direct to your hosting company, not us and therefore has no mark-up. All we need to send your site live is access to your account to upload the site, which you can revoke anytime.

Do you design logos or write copy?

No we are not print designers - we ask that you supply your logo digitally. If you do not have one we can create a very simple temporary one for your website which can be changed out in the future should you get one designed. We prefer not to write copy due to the time involved. We are happy to edit supplied copy and format it if we feel it can be improved.

Do you do Social Media Marketing?

No - this is an entirely different area of business. You can easily create your own social media channels on Facebook, YouTube, X, TikTok etc all of which should link back to your website and all of which your website can link to.

Do you provide ongoing support?

Once published your website will not need ongoing security updates or any software updates on a monthly basis. The minimal code we use may need updating after several years as web technology progresses but that risk is minimal. Your site is a fixed-price product.

Support, other than fixing an error on our part during the build, is provided at $100 per hour + GST and we charge by 15 minute blocks. This includes making content changes to your website. As the code is very simple, any competent web developer can also make changes so you are not reliant on us.

We also hold backups of your website, will send you a zip of the initial published site to hold onto and many hosting companies have a built in backup system, so there is little risk of losing your website.

Can I have a contact form on my website?

No and Yes. No as in we do not provide them as the coding can cause issues over time and not all hosting supports them. They are relatively complex and none we have used are immune from spam. Yes as in if you create a Google form we can add it to your site easily. If you use a popular third party form service such as jotform.com we cal also usually add those.

Can I have a video on my site?

Yes, provided it is hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, or any other video hosting service that allows video sharing.

Can you add Google Analytics to my site?

Yes. We ask that you create a Google account in your name & provide us temporary access to set the code up, or you can supply us with the tracking code & verification file Google provides. Just to note: Google & Bing will index and rank your website even if you don't set up an account with them as it is an automatic process.

Will my site be SEO Optimised?

Yes insofar as it will contain the key essential elements - suitable page titles, page descriptions, alt tags on images and canonical data. We also set a Facebook and X sharing image & details for each page. The coding of the site is also very lean and nothing should prevent Google (et al) indexing your site & provided your hosting is good it will be fast loading. How it ranks is outside of our control.

Making sure your business is listed on Googlemaps and setting yourself up a Google Business Profile (and linking back to your site from there) will help a great deal.

Can we have a meeting to chat about our requirements?

Unfortunately that would be outside the costings for these types of websites. To keep to budget, and since the sites are not complex or bespoke, we do not allow time for meetings. Everything is managed through email.

We are 100% based in NZ, in Ohaupo in the Waikato. Your site build is not subcontracted offshore. You will have access to our phone number however, to keep costs under control we need to be mindful of multiple or long phone calls.
